Above Mergellina, where the steps of Parco Margherita slip down toward the sea, there is a home that once belonged to a grandmother and now belongs to those who know how to look. You'll find it at number 18, behind a dark wooden door.
Inside, no hotel lobby: only the rooms she lived in. Coffee from the moka, glass doors that stay open, the yellow afternoon light. You arrive a guest, you leave family.
